You’re never too old to enjoy Halloween! Times change and you need to change with them. I have learned to embrace each stage my children are in so I can truly enjoy life in the moment. I miss some of the stages we’ve gone through but to avoid being frozen in time I have learned to find new opportunities when times change – and they seem to change faster and faster lately!
For any of you embarking on your first Halloween with no trick-or-treaters, here are a few ideas I have come up with to enjoy the season:
1. Decorate your house in Halloween style!
Why not? Just because your kids aren’t trick-or-treating doesn’t mean you can’t be festive.
2. Bake some fun Halloween treats.
Check out these cupcakes with spiderweb frosting.
Dress up in full Halloween costume
(if that’s your thing) – but at the very least wear black and orange!
Watch a scary movie.
You can certainly go out to the theatre, but in my opinion staying in and watching a movie is much more fun. Make the house extra spooky by turning off the lights, lighting some candles and whipping up some Halloween cocktails and appetizers.
Don’t wait around for others to make things fun for you, get creative and make your own fun.
Oh yeah ….
Post any additional ideas in the comments section below.
Make it a great day.
