Nothing beats a summer night in Michigan. The air is crisp, cool (and sometimes humid). The sky is streaked with blues, purples, oranges and pinks. It is absolutely stunning. My favorite thing to do in the evenings is take a walk and enjoy my surroundings. This is what my typical “summer night routine” (on a weekday looks like).
Get off of work! I work from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Once it hits 4:30 p.m., my bag is packed and I’m walking out the door into the warm summer air.
My hair is in a tight ponytail, my music is plugged in (check out my workout playlist), and I am ready to go. I usually do a HIIT workout for about 40 – 50 minutes after work.
Hopping in the shower for a hot sec! I quickly rinse off any sweat, but don’t wash my hair. Lately I’ve been washing my hair in the morning so it doesn’t get as greasy during the workday.
Eating dinner with the fam! My mom probably cooked up something delicious like grilled chicken or a pasta dish.
Time to work. I sit down with my laptop and headphones, fire up my playlist of the moment, and get to work. I sift through e-mails, monitor the blog’s social media, schedule posts, and slice through anything else on my to-do list. For example, today I needed to take video clips for an upcoming project (hint, hint), plan out Instagram stories for next week and do some more shopping for a new theme.
Around 8-8:30 p.m., I’ll usually call it quits. While watching Lilly Singh’s latest vlog, I pick out my outfit for tomorrow, pack up my work bag and clean up my room.
This is the time the rest of my friends are getting off of work, so I’ll usually go hang out with them. We like to take long walks through their neighborhoods or hang out on each others back porches and enjoy the night air while chatting.
I finally get home around 11:30-midnight and crash into bed, only to be woken up by my 5:30 a.m. alarm. Good night!
