Ahhhh that time of the year where you feel like you are being pulled into multiple directions and seriously on the brink of a cataclysmic meltdown.
You may need to use that two letter word…N…O! This word can bring upon a tremendous amount of calm and quiet to your life. Yes, you will feel guilty when you have to say no but saying no to others is ultimately saying YES to yourself. You need to protect your mental and your physical health during this crazy, hectic holiday season. You don’t need to drive to nineteen stores in search of the perfect wrapping paper; sure make cookies but don’t make eight different kinds….do you see what I’m saying? You can still enjoy the festivities of the season, just peel it back a bit.
I do realize there are some functions you just cannot say no to. Believe me, I get it – been there, done that! So when these times are upon you, try to take a deep breath and remember to give thanks for all the invites and opportunities you do have. There are many people who are lonely during the holidays and faced with many dark, difficult days. It really is a blessing to have many around you who want to celebrate and share in the season with you.
I’m sure you’ve read oodles of articles about eating right, exercising and getting enough rest during this crazy season, and these are all vitally important. I just want to remind all of you (present company included), to nourish your spiritual side. Give thanks, count your blessings and live in the moment. Because the present is just that….a present!
Merry Christmas and Blessings Always!
